Description of the family

Epiphytic or lithophytic plants with creeping or climbing rhizomes, which have peltate, often clathrate, rhizome-scales. Fronds simple or pinnatifid to pinnate; veins anastomosing. Sori circular (in ours) with or without paraphyses; indusium 0.
