Capitulum solitary on each peduncle, heterogamous, discoid; marginal florets female, without corolla, disk florets bisexual (sometimes sterile) with 4-lobed corolla. Capitula discoid; phyllaries subequal. Receptacle nude. Pappus 0. Worldwide: 55 spp, southern hemisphere (S Africa) to N Africa and Mexico. |
