Description of the genus

Shrubs scandent or occasionally erect; young branches and leaves glabrous or variously pilose. Leaf-lamina distinctly pellucid-punctulate; petiole very short, articulated at the base. Inflorescence umbellate; peduncle slender, claviform. Flowers minute; calyx cupuliform; petals reflexed, caducous. Ovary free. Fruit globose to ellipsoid, with a thin pericarp and a large stone.

Worldwide: Four species in tropical Africa.

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
