Description of the genus

Small hemiparasitic shrubs with simple indumentum arising from a single haustorial attachment. Flowers in racemes, 4-merous; bract unilateral and cup-shaped. Petals free; lower part erect, upper part spreading to reflexed. Stamens erect, arising from top of lower part of petals.

Worldwide: 45 species in tropical Africa and Asia
