Description:
Terrestrial herb, 20–36 cm tall; stems creeping at the base, erect in the upper part. Roots arising from the lower nodes, fleshy, villous, c. 2 mm in diameter. Leaves spirally arranged, ovate, 4.8–8 cm long, slightly asymmetrical, hairless, with 3 prominent longitudinal veins; margins often undulate; petiole 2–4 cm long, flattened, widening to a sheath at the base. Upper 5–6 leaves reduced to ovate sheaths up to about 2 cm long. Inflorescence terminal, densely many-flowered; rhachis, bracts, ovary, pedicel and sepals all glandular-hairy. Sepals green, the lateral sepals sometimes pink-brown along the margin; petals green or pink-brown; lip white, pink-brown at the base. Dorsal sepal ovate, convex, 6–7 mm long; lateral sepals joined to the dorsal sepal for 3 mm, then spreading, c. 4 mm long. Petals oblanceolate or spathulate, 5–8 mm long, lying inside the dorsal sepal. Lip 5.5–8.5 mm long, adnate to the column for half its length, fleshy, deeply concave with 2 rounded calli at the base, the apex rounded and recurved.

Derivation of specific name: glandulosa; with glands or glandular, referring to the flowers.
Habitat: In deep shade in marshy forest.
