Description:
Basal leaves 3-6, produced after flowering, 1-2 mm wide. Flowers relatively small (lateral sepals 6-8 mm) 2-8 in a lax inflorescence, pinkish-mauve to white, rarely blue.
Notes: It is very habitat specific and only grows on quartzite soils.
Derivation of specific name: chimanimaniensis: of the Chimanimani mountains
Habitat: Montane grassland on quartzite
Altitude range: 1500 - 1800 m
Flowering time:Sep - Oct
Worldwide distribution: Confined to the Chimanimani mountains of Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Mozambique distribution: MS
Growth form(s): Terrestrial.
Endemic status: Near Endemic
