Description:
It usually has somewhat smaller flowers, with a darker violet throat, than the similar S. eylesii, which is more widespread. The plant consists of a single leaf, which will continuously grow for 2 to 4 years. After flowering the plant dies.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: michelmorei: after A.P.G. Michelmore, an entomologist who collected the type specimen.
Habitat: A plant of sheltered cliffs and earth banks.
