Description:
Erect annual or perennial herb, 15-90 cm. Stems often somewhat woody at the base. Leaves linear, scabrid at the margins and on the veins. Flowers in clusters at the nodes. Corolla white, sometimes tinged with blue; lobes 3-5 mm long, lanceolate. Capsule 3-4 mm long, oblong-ellipsoid more or less hairy.

Habitat: In grassland, woodland, on rocky outcrops, along roadsides and as a weed of cultivation.
Altitude range: 640 - 1650 m

Worldwide distribution: From DRC to Kenya, south to Zimbabwe and Namibia.
