Description:
Perennial herb, growing from a woody roostock. Stems erect or semi-erect up to 60 cm. Leaves in whorls of 5-10, linear-oblanceolate with strongly recurved margins. Inflorescence dense, many-flowered. Flowers cream to pale yellow.
Notes: Plants both with whitish hairs on the stems and leaves mostly hairless specimens both are found in Zimbabwe. These were formerly recognized as different varieties but this is no longer accepted.

Habitat: In grassland or grassy areas in Brachystegia woodland.
Altitude range: 1200 - 2250 m
