Description:
Twining herb up to several metres long, whole plant hairless. Leaves not fleshy, elliptic to oblong or ovate, 5–12 cm long, apex rounded or pointed, base rounded or very weakly cordate; petiole 1–3 cm long. Inflorescences extra-axillary, appearing much branched with several clusters of flowers arising at the angles of a strongly zig-zag axis; peduncles up to first branching point 1–5 cm long; pedicels 5–15 mm long, very slender. Calyx lobes triangular, 0.5–1 mm long. Corolla pale pink or mauve, hairless; lobes ovate, 1.5–3 mm long, apex rounded. Corona yellowish-green, fleshy, c. 0.4 mm long. Follicles singly, narrowly lanceolate in outline, 6–7 cm long, smooth.
