Description:
Stems glabrous; leaves widest below the middle; peduncle 19-35 mm long; inflorescence raceme-like with a distinct rhachis with flowers at two or more nodes.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: racemose: raceme-like;
glabra: glabrous or hairless, referring to the stems in this subsp.
Habitat: In evergreen thickets, usually amongst rocks.
Altitude range: 1450 - 1650 m

Worldwide distribution: Mostly Madagascar but also in Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
