Description:
Small perennial herb, usually less than 15 cm tall. Leaves erect, in a basal rosette, lanceolate, sometimes hairless above and pubescent on the veins beneath but regularly pubescent all over; 3-5 veins prominent beneath. Inflorescence up to 12 cm tall, racemose. Flowers white with purple markings or mauve, purple or pink, 2-lipped; lower lip 3-lobed; lobes obtuse.
Notes: Although this species has apparently not yet been recorded from Mozambique, it is likely to occur there. Several known specimens from Zimbabwe were recorded from very near the border in both the Chimanimani Mts (Goodier & Phipps 43, BM) and the Tsetsera range (Exell, Mendonça & Wild 292, K).

Habitat: In seasonally wet, shallow soil overlying rock.
