Description:
Perennial herb, up to 20 cm high, growing from an obconic, ovoid or subglobose corm, 12-18 mm long.Basal leas one, more or less erect, narrowly linear, 8-16 mm long. Leaves along the stem 1-2, sheathing at the base, 2-5 cm long, normally shorter than the inflorescence. Inflorescence up to 4 cm long, 1-7 flowered. Flowers 10-14 mm wide, white to pale mauve with darker blue-purple or greenish spots on the spreading tepals, sometimes pale yellow and green in the centre. Styles 3. Capsule erect, ovoid, 8-`5 mm long, crowned by the persistent styles.

Habitat: In montane grassland or wooded grassland with scattered Uapaca, both in wet grassy patches or dry sandy soils.
Altitude range: 1200 - 2300 m
