| Description: |
Semi-woody liane or climbing shrub up to 8 m tall; young branches 4-angled to narrowly winged. Leaves opposite, more ore less broadly elliptic, up to 11-15 cm long, dark green, glossy, hairless; margin entire; petiole up to 3 cm long, stellate hairy at the base. Flowers solitary or sometimes appearing as a raceme by reduction of the leaves towards the apex of the branches; pedicels 1.5-2.5 cm long, hairless. Calyx cupular with irregular short lobes. Corolla white with a yellow to apricot throat; tube up to 4 cm long, with sessile glands and stellate hairy outside. Capsule 2-2.7 cm long, densely yellowish velvety. |
