Description:
Usually a shrub with grey bark and greyish-brown, appressed pubescent young branchlets. Leaves alternate, 3-foliolate, terminal leaflet obovate-elliptic, 3-8.5 cm long, 1.5-2 times the length of the lateral leaflets, more or less hairless except for conspicuous hair-tuft domatia in the axils of the veins beneath; margin remotely and more or less shallowly serrate-crenate; petiole up to 5.5 cm long. Inflorescences usually unbranched, up to 12 cm long. Flowers in few-flowered clusters along the inflorescence, small, yellowish-green, cream or white. Fruit ellipsoid-globose, c. 6 × 4 mm, red, rarely black.
