Description:
This subspecies can be distinguished from subsp. goetzei by the more numerous (8-23 pairs) leaflets, which are narrower and oblong, usually less than 3 mm wide. There are normally glands on the rhachis between the top 3-5 pairs of pinnae, while in subsp. goetzei there is one a gland between the top pair of pinnae. Both subspecies have a similar, overlapping distribution.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: goetzei: after Walter Goetze (1872-1899), German naturalist, explorer, photographer and collector of botanical and zoological specimens in Tanzania.
