| Description: |
Tree to 20 m. Bark distinctive, ± smooth, pale grey, sometimes almost white, with pale yellowish-brown patches where outer bark has fallen off. Leaves: petiole to 2.5 cm; lamina (3-)6-14 × (1-)2-4(-5) cm, usually broadly lanceolate, sometimes ovate, gland-dotted and with domatia, ± pubescent when young, glabrescent; base attenuate; apex acute. Cymes paniculate, male panicles larger than female; rhachis of inflorescence and pedicels usually densely pubescent. Male flowers: petals 2 × 2 mm, subcircular. Female flowers: style to 2.5 mm, stigma papillose, reddish. Capsule 3-4 × 2-2.5 mm, ellipsoid, gland-dotted. Outer seeds 2-3 × 0.5 mm. |
