Common names: Tomato (English)
Description: Sprawling or sub-erect short-lived herb, widely cultivated for its edible fruit. It is known as an occasional escape from cultivation. All parts of the plant covered in long viscid hairs. Leaves pinnatisect, divided to the midrib. Flowers in lateral raceme-like heads on long peduncles, yellow. Fruit - the well-known tomato - bright red when ripe.
