Description: | Usually a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub, to 7 m. Bark smooth, mottled, pinkish-grey. Leaves: petiole short or 0; lamina elliptic or oblong, pubescent on veins beneath. Flowers showy, pink, white or purple. Calyx hairless, not ribbed. Petals 6, with a long claw and fringed limb. Stamens c. 40. Capsule 0.8-1.2 mm long. |
