Common names:	Indian lilac (English) Simple-leaf chaste-tree (English)
Description:	Shrub to 3 m. Leaves 3-foliolate below, often 1-foliolate towards the stem apices. Leaflets discolourous, glabrous above, tomentose below, usually variegated. Inflorescences of compound panicles, terminal or axillary in the upper leaf axils. Flowers blue.

Derivation of specific name:	trifolia: leaves with 3 leaflets (although often only 1 in this species)

Worldwide distribution:	Native to the Indian subcontinent and SE Asia; possibly also native in East Africa.
