Description of the genus

Annual herb with procumbent branched stems. Leaves alternate, crenate or lobed. Flowers 4-merous, solitary, extra-axillary. Calyx deeply lobed. Corolla actinomorphic, white. Ovary entire or subentire. Styles 2. Stigmas capitate. Fruit ovoid-pyramidal, 4-lobed.

Worldwide: 1 species in the tropical areas of Africa, Asia and Australia

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
