Description of the genus

Trees. Leaves cordate, usually entire maybe lobed when very young. Inflorescence racemose or paniculate, axillary; calyx campanulate, 5-lobed to base, lobes reflexed at apex; petals absent. Fruit follicles, woody, sub-globose, long-stiped. Seeds many, with long and wide apical wing.

Worldwide: Species 20 in Africa and tropical Asia.

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
