Description of the genus

Leaves alternate; inflorescence of 10-15 free carpels; fruiting carpels tapering at both ends.

Derivation of name: with petals resembling orchids in the genus Ophrys.

Worldwide: Monotypic. 1 species in South-central Africa.

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
