Description of the genus

Trees or shrubs. Leaves alternate, with 1 leaflet; margins entire. Inflorescence of short axillary racemes. Sepals 5, sub-erect, valvate. Petals 5 longer than the sepals, oblong-lanceolate, densely pubescent. Fruit a capsule, stalked, oblique, velvety.

Worldwide: C.7 species with 2 in Africa and Madagascar

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
