Description of the genus

Terrestrial rhizomatous herbs with tall, erect leafy stems. Leaves ± sessile, distichous, plicate. Inflorescences of axillary panicles. Flowers greenish-white. Sepals and petals relatively long (7-8 cm in ours); lip with ovate tip. Flowers non-resupinate. Column long, straight, widened above, with 2 lateral auricles. Pollinia 2.

Worldwide: 8 species from Indomalesia to the Pacific

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
