Description of the genus

Rhizome shortly creeping; scales peltate, clathrate. Fronds tufted, simple. Stipe short, articulated. Lamina linear to narrowly elliptic in outline, entire, glabrous; venation reticulate with free included veinlets. Sporangia acrostichoid borne on a linear segment at the apex of the frond.

Derivation of name: bellus: pretty, videre: to look at; obscure derivation

Worldwide: c. 10 species in the tropics and warm temperate areas of the Old World.

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
