Conspicuous petaloid staminodes present (leading to an impression of a large number of petals). Stamens many. Ovary superior, of 5 united carpels. Styles 5. Fruit a 5-valved, loculicidal capsule. Worldwide: 3 species: two in Southwest and Southern Africa, the other in tropical Africa and Asia Mozambique: 1 taxon. |
