Description of the genus

Woody lianes, climbing shrubs or small trees. Leaves 3-foliolate. Inflorescence a large many-flowered panicle. Flowers 5-merous. Sepals densely brown-hairy. Petals white. Carpels 5, pilose. Fruit of 1-3 follicles, the follicles fulvo-tomentose. Seed with cup-shaped basal aril.

Worldwide: 7 species in tropical Africa and Asia.

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
