Description of the genus

Unarmed tree, not climbing (in ours). Stipules subulate; stipels 0. Leaves imparipinnate, asymmetric at base. Inflorescences contracted subracemose panicles, occurring in axils of leaves. Bracts subulate or lanceolate. Calyx with 2 broad upper lobes joined ± to their tips and 3 smaller triangular lower lobes. Corolla: wings free; upper stamen free; anthers dorsifixed. Fruit flattened and thin, indehiscent, 1(-2)-seeded, not winged.

Worldwide: 3 species in tropical Africa

Mozambique: 1 taxon.
