Perennial, climbing or trailing herb (in ours). Leaves pinnately 3-foliolate (in ours); leaflets (in ours) obtuse or emarginate at the apex. Flowers borne in axillary false racemes in groups of 1-3. Bracteoles present. Calyx 4-lobed (the upper pair of teeth completely fused). Standard ovate or round, hairless outside. Vexillary filament free. Ovary with numerous ovules. Pod linear to linear-oblong, flattened. Worldwide: 140 species in warm regions of the world, mainly America Mozambique: 1 taxon. |
