| Note: | In September 2012 Stefaan Dondeyne and I did a small survey in Moribane Forest in Mozambique. In one of the plots we had set out we found that all the young trees of an Apocynaceae called Voacanga africana had been neatly cut off by some mysterious being. We had no idea what could have done this maybe some rodent, bushbaby or monkey? Years later, searching the net for something completely unrelated, I stumbled upon some posts in Ispot-Nature. Apparently the same phenomenon has been recorded from KwaZulu-natal in South Africa and there the culprit has been identified as being this large Longhorn Beetle. Despite all the unbelievable rubbish there is omnipresent the internet is a wonderful tool with occasional very pleasant surprises. | ||||
