BiographyBelgian Doctor of Sciences from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL). He was seconded from the Catholic University of Louvain and went on a cooperation mission to the University of Burundi (1979 to 1984) together with his wife Baerts-Lemann Martine. In addition to their primary teaching mission, they conducted ethnobotanical research in the high-altitude region of the Congo-Nile ridge of this country. During their fieldwork, they collected a multitude of plants from traditional practitioners. |
