Description:
Perennial herb with slender, trailing or climbing stems up to 3 m long, finely velvety when young, hairless, pubescent or scabridulous later. Leaves broadly kidney-shaped to cordate-ovate, 2–7 cm long, usually abruptly acuminate, hairless or nearly so on both surfaces; margin entire or irregularly lobed or toothed in the lower half, minutely and obscurely ciliate; petiole 0·8–5 cm. Inflorescences 1–5-flowered on slender peduncles 1·5–9 cm long; bracts ovate, minute, usually scabrid; pedicels somewhat thickening upwards, 5–12 mm long, minutely hispidulous, scabrid or pubescent. Sepals unequal, thinly leathery, hairless or minutely pubescent; outer oblong, elliptic or ovate to somewhat spathulate, 5–6 mm long; inner considerably longer, sometimes faintly emarginate, minutely mucronate, 7–9 mm long. Corolla funnel-shaped with horizontally spreading limb, light magenta or purplish, 2–3·5 cm long, hairless. Capsule globose or ovoid-conical, hairless.
