Description:
Rhizome erect; scales greyish-brown, lanceolate, subentire, up to 10 mm long. Fronds tufted, not proliferous. Stipe subglabrous, up to 50 cm × 0.3 cm. Lamina up to 25 cm × 17 cm, dark green, pinnate, oblong in outline, 3-6 pairs of pinnae plus a terminal pinna similar to the other pinnae. Pinnae hairless, lanceolate-oblong; margins shallowly toothed, base unequally cuneate. Rhachis subglabrous with scatered fimbriate scales when young. Sori linear, set along the veins at 50 degrees to the costa, indusium entire.
Notes: Differs from similar species by not proliferous fronds and having only 3-6 pairs pinnae.

Habitat: Deep shade on forest floor away from water in moist evergreen forest. Terrestrial, epiphyte or lithophyte.
Altitude range: 350 - 1700 m
