Common names: Broad-leaved yellow-wood (English) Real yellow-wood (English)
Status: Native
Medium to large evergreen tree. Leaves subsessile, spirally arranged or clustered at the ends of branches, narrowly elliptic, thick and leathery, tapering to a sharp point; margins entire, rolled under. Male cones axillary, pinkish, up to 5 cm long. Female cones blue-grey produced on a conical, fleshy, purple berry-like receptacle.
Derivation of specific name: latifolius: broad-leaved
Habitat: Montane mist forest.
