Description: |
Annual 0.2─2 m tall, loosely or densely tufted, with brown or reddish roots. Leaves and bracts ligulate, the sheath mouth extended into a tongue with dark brown margins. Leaves glabrous but scabrid on margins and veins beneath. Inflorescence of a terminal and 1─3 lateral panicles, always single at the nodes of the upper leaves. Peduncles stiffly erect but may become ± pendulous after maturity. Nutlets white or grey, ovoid 3.5─4 mm long, 2─2.4 mm wide, glabrous, lightly to moderately verrucose. |
