Description:
Slender perennial herb. Leaves basal, narrowly lanceolate, tapering at the base into a pseudo-petiole. Inflorescence a lax unbranched spike. Flowers widely spread, small, white with spreading tepals; anthers 6, yellow.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: comosum: with tufts formed from hairs, leaves or flowers
Habitat: In shade on the forest floor of evergreen forest, often in colonies.
Altitude range: 50 - 1800 m
Flowering time:All year round
Worldwide distribution: Widespread in sub-Saharan Africa.
