Description:
Scrambling shrub, often climbing into surrounding trees. Stems and branches slender, often coiled to assist climbing. Thorns small, hooked, not in pairs but scattered along the stems and branches. Leaves with 8-23 pairs of pinnae; leaflets many, very small. Flowers in terminal panicles of white spherical heads. Pods stiffly papery with raised margins, oblong, 5-15 cm long, dotted with minute brown glands, dehiscent.

Habitat: Sand forest and coastal scrub.
