Description:
Small to medium-sized tree. Leaves alternate, elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, dark green and glossy, stiffly leathery, often distinctly asymmetric at the base; margins sharply dentate. Flowers unisexual on different trees in conspicuous, dense clusters all along the main trunk and larger branches of the tree. The male flowers have a very unpleasant smell. Fruits spherical, fleshy, yellow-orange when ripe.

Habitat: In the understorey of evergreen forest.
