Description:
See var. stuhlmannii (Engl.) Kowaro for general description. This variety is distinguished by the mature leaves still being densely hairy, particularly beneath.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: schweinfurthii: named after Dr Georg August Schweinfurth (1836-1925), german botanical collector and taxonomist;
tomentosa: densely woolly or tomentose
Habitat: In various types of woodland and riverine areas, often associated with termite mounds.
