Description:
Woody climber up to 10 m. Stems more or less terete, fibrous; tendrils axillary and on the inflorescences, up to 20 cm long. Leaves unlobed or 3-7-lobed, up to 13 × 12 cm, usually more or less deeply cordate; margin entire. Petiole 0.5-6 cm long with 2 glands at the base of the lamina. Flowers in axillary clusters, unisexual. Male clusters up to 10-flowered; female clusters 1-5-flowered, greenish-yellow. Capsule subspherical, up to 4 × 5 cm, 3-ribbed, greenish to yellow, blackish when dry.
