Description:
Sparsely branched, small shrub, up to 1 m. Leaves small, scale-like, 2-3 mm wide, glabrous. Flowers golden yellow. It is distinguished from S. rhodesiana by its more erect shrub-like habit, the slightly wider leaves, and the larger, golden-yellow flowers.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: montana: of mountainous areas (montane)
Habitat: Confined to the high quartzite ridges of montane grassland in the Chimanimani Mts.
