Description:
See var. abyssinica for general description. This variety differs in its mostly twice compound leaves, with at least some leaflets decurrent into the rhachis and eachother, appearing more like deeply cut lobes. The leaflets and lobes are generally narrow with a long pointed apex and often sickle-shaped, hairless or with a few hairs only at the base of the midrib below. The fruit is smaller, less than 5 mm long and 1.5-2.5 mm wide. It occurs on steep rocky slopes, in open scrub forest and among rocks in grassland.
