Description: |
Perennial herb or subshrub, restricted to the quartzite soils of the Chimanimani Mts. Stems 1-several, erect or ascending, up to 40 cm long, densely covered with upcurved hairs. Leaves opposite, petiolate, elliptic, up to 30-80 × 12-30 mm with prominent veins beneath; margins crenate-dentate to subentire. Inflorescence a lax panicle. Bracts elliptic or oblanceolate, up to 3.5 mm long. Corolla white or pink; upper lip subequally 4-lobed with violet markings; lower lip slightly boat-shaped; style longer than the lower lip. |
