Description:
Perennial herb. All parts except flowers with long spreading hears. Leaves several in a loosely arranged tuft, linear-oblong to ovate, up to 10 × 4 cm; margin finely toothed or scalloped. Young leaves sessile, flowering leaf stalked with a pseudopetiole up to 35 mm long. Inflorescences 1 or 2 from the junction of the leaf base and the stalk, few-flowered. Flowers white with magenta-pink stripes and spots on the corolla lobes and in the throat. Capsule 8-15 mm long, densely covered in long spreading hairs, crowned by the persistent style. |
Notes:
Although several leaves are normally present, one leaf is often much larger than the others, which makes this species often appear as a small single-leaved species at first glance in the field. |
