Description: |
Scrambling shrub or small tree up to 6 m high. Inflorescence 1-8 cm long, shorter than H. floribundum, lacking the pair of characteristic bracts of that species. Stipules often 2-fid. Leaves elliptic to oblanceolate, 1-9 × 1-5 cm, with venation not drying reticulate beneath; hairless to densely scaly-hairy; apex obtuse to acuminate. Inflorescence a terminal spike, often with additional lateral spikes, the whole forming a panicle. Corolla white, greenish or yellow; tube 2.5-5 mm; lobes 1.5 × 1 mm. Capsule 1.5 - 2.5(-4) cm long, reddish-brown, with prominent lenticels. Seeds 0.8 - 1.6 cm, winged. |
