Description:	Shrub or small semi-deciduous tree. Leaves opposite or in whorls of 3, crowded towards the ends of branches, obovate with a rounded or emarginate apex; upper surface with rough hairs, lower surface greyish velvety, dotted with dark bacterial nodules. Flowers white, sweetly scented, in dense, rounded axillary heads.

Habitat:	In miombo and other types of deciduous woodland and wooded grassland. Also on rocky hillsides.

Worldwide distribution:	Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Cameroon, CAR, DRC, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Limpopo, Mpumalanga, South Africa.
