Description: |
Many-stemmed perennial dwarf shrub, less than 1 m. Leaves in whorls of 3, linear to narrowly oblanceolate, mostly hairless; margins often revolute. Flowers greenish yellow, borne in clusters at the nodes, sexes separate on different plants; female clusters more conspicuous and with more flowers than male clusters. Fruit reddish brown. |
Notes: | This is the only species in our region that is dioecious. |
