Robust glabrous perennial twiner or liane, arising from a large subterranean tuber, ascending to many metres on trees and other supports. Leaves palmately compound with 5-7 lobes, circular in outline, 6-16 cm in diameter. Inflorescence few- to several-flowered. Pedicels 1.5-1.8 cm long, enlarging in fruit to 5 cm. Corolla yellow, funnel-shaped with a cylindric tube up to 5.5 cm long. Fruit a capsule enclosed by the accrescent calyx. |
