Description:
Large shrub or small tree up to c. 8 m tall; bark greyish. Leaves alternate,lanceolate or narrowly ovate, 5–17 cm long, leathery with circular and linear pellucid dots, mostly hairless of finely velvety on the midrib when young, usually asymmetric at the base; margin entire or finely toothed or scalloped; petiole up to 1.3 cm. long, chanelled above. Flowers greenish-white, in dense axillary clusters on a cushion of minute, brown, membranous, ovate bracteoles with ciliolate margins; Stamens 10 alternating with 10 staminodes. Fruit an angular, ellipsoid capsule splitting from above into 3–4 longitudinal valves, orange-yellow.
